Mind to Mindfulness to Inner Peace – five stages of transformation

The manuals of eastern wisdom and science are different, but they both aim at the discovery of the truth. The eastern wisdom aims at the discovery of our true nature, and science aims at the true nature of the material world. The goal of mindfulness is to find our true nature. The transformation takes place in five stages in the journey of mindfulness.

Engage the mind and life: The first step is to know the principles by listening to a teacher, who explains it based on the mental temperament of an individual.

Educate the mind: the second step educates the mind about our true nature so that individual start working on the mind (not mind works on them, causing suffering).

Empower the mind: after regular practice, a time comes in the life of a participant, when he can prevent mind moving in ignorance causing stress.

Evolving the mind: when the seeker continues the practices, he discovers an inner change of purity, calmness, peace, and happiness. The mind starts dropping wrong notions from life.

Enlighten: the step leads to the state of mindfulness- the state of emptiness or the objectless state of mind. Only the objectless state can lead to awakening.

It is equally important for students to treading the path to share their experiences. When the seeker shares the experiences with the teacher and others, it helps him to know if his experiences are indicating the state beyond the mind or not.
